Lufthansa will fly to several new holiday destinations in the Mediterranean next summer and add more flights to the USA and Asia.
From next April/May, the German market leader will launch flights from Munich and Frankfurt to smaller destinations in Spain, Italy, Turkey and Greece along with Croatia, Montenegro and the French Atlantic coast.
A completely new destination for Lufthansa is Tivat in Montenegro. Situated near the historical Bay of Kotor, the city with its fjord-like bay is a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site. Lufthansa will fly to Tivat from Munich every Saturday from 13 April and from Frankfurt every Sunday.
From its hub at Munich, Lufthansa will operate three weekly flights to Alicante on the Spanish Costa Blanca from 12 April, in addition to its existing services from Frankfurt. From 25 May, the French coastal resort of Biarritz and the port city of Rijeka, gateway to the northern Croatian islands, will be added with weekly flights, followed by the start of weekly flights to the Italian resort of Rimini on 26 May.
The other new summer destinations from Frankfurt lie in Greece and Turkey. Lufthansa will fly weekly to Heraklion on Crete from 13 April, and to Bodrum on the Turkish Aegean coast from 14 April. The airline already flies weekly from Munich to these two destinations.
Lufthansa already announced last month new direct connections to Austin (USA) and Bangkok (Thailand) in summer 2019.
There will be five weekly A330-300 flights from Frankfurt to Austin from 3 May 2019 to expand its US route network. This is Lufthansa's third destination in Texas alongside Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston. On 1 June, Lufthansa will then launch daily flights from Munich to Bangkok, operating a new Airbus A350-900 plane.
